2025 saw an unprecedented 45% increase in cases received by the Data Protection Commission
The Data Protection Commission (DPC) has published its Annual Report for 2025. At a press conference to mark the report’s launch on 30 June, Des Hogan, Chairperson of the DPC said that many of the cases received last year involved the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) by persons making complaints, adding to the volume and complexity of the documentation presented.
