Labour Court overturns highest ever unfair dismissal award
The Labour Court recently published its much-anticipated decision in X Internet Unlimited Company v Gary Rooney. This decision arises from an appeal of the Workplace Relations Commission’s decision in Gary Rooney v Twitter International Unlimited Company awarding Mr Rooney €550,131 in compensation for unfair dismissal and unpaid wages.
