Irish Medtech Awards launched as sector reaches €20billion in exports with 50,000 employed
- Despite growing success in Irish sector, trade uncertainty a cause for concern
Irish Medtech, the Ibec group that represents the medtech sector, Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland today launched the Irish Medtech Awards 2025, which are held as part of Medtech Rising, 4 December, in The Galmont, Galway.
Dr Eoghan Ó Faoláin, Irish Medtech Director, said:
“For the best part of two decades these awards have been an incredible opportunity to celebrate the business both homegrown and foreign that are saving and improving lives. Ireland is one of the top 5 global medtech hubs, with nine of the world’s top 10 medtech companies having a base here, now employing 50,000 people and reaching new heights of €20 billion in exports. However trading uncertainty against the backdrop of fluctuating growth forecasts means that it’s more important than ever to showcase the success stories here.
The Irish medtech community is not only tackling health challenges, they are transforming how they do this in their organisations with teams that better represent the patients they serve, and more sustainable practice under an increasing digital age to transform care solutions. This is reflected in our nine award categories that open today for application, and close 10 October. Additionally, members of the public can submit their nomination for the Outstanding Contribution to Medtech is awarded to individuals who have gone above and beyond to advance the industry beyond their own organisations.”
The award categories are:
- Medtech Company of the Year Award
- Emerging Medtech Company of the Year Award

- Medtech Partner/Supplier of the Year Award
