What we do
Talent & Skills Ireland’s talent pool remains a key global competitive advantage for the sector. The quality and capability of the people working in the sector is vital as companies invest and move up the value chain of innovation. Ensuring that Ireland remains an attractive location for highly-skilled employees across the world is vital in future proofing our workforce.
Under this pillar, BPCI members can engage in discussions centred on related HR, L&D and D&I issues, HR trends, talent development, skills gaps and future skills needs. Activities include knowledge sharing, benchmarking, peer to peer learning and the facilitation of networking opportunities through industry initiatives, workshops, forums and webinars.

In conjunction with the Ibec Survey Unit, the HR Forum feeds into the annual BioPharmaChem Salary Survey that allows member companies to benchmark salaries and conditions across a wide number of categories. The survey is available to all participating organisations.
There will also be a series of briefing sessions held throughout the year covering topics of interest to the group, such as Skills, D&I (Diversity & Inclusion), Mentoring and Wellbeing.

Explore / Our industry-led training
The Laboratory apprenticeships are extremely varied in that they combine paid on the job training with academic study. These programmes are suitable for leaving certificate students who wish to pursue a career in science, and current industry employees looking to up-skill or train in a laboratory environment. It is an outstanding opportunity for students to acquire real and practical experience while earning money. In addition to this, the programmes have proven very beneficial for Irish employers. Taking on a laboratory apprentice allows companies an unrivalled opportunity to compete both nationally and internationally by growing their talent pipeline and ensuring students gain valuable, hands on experience from day one.
