Navigating Neurodiversity in the Workplace: lessons from a WRC ruling
In this WRC decision A Clerical Worker v a Healthcare Employer (ADJ-00053987), a clerical worker successfully claimed that his healthcare employer discriminated against him on the grounds of disability. The dispute centred on the employer’s failure to provide reasonable accommodation following the employee's diagnosis of autism, which ultimately delayed his return to work by several months. Complaints were raised under both the Payment of Wages Act 1991, and the Employment Equality Acts 1998 to 2015.
