As the CEO of LUMA Vision he has driven significant growth securing $80 million in venture funding, scaled the organisation to 70 people across Dublin, Ireland, and Munich, Germany, as well as positioning it as a disruptive innovator in the global cardiovascular landscape.”
“Under our new strategy, we aim to unlock breakthrough technologies and attract global investment by equipping medtech founders with the necessary supports. We will continue to work towards strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem and advocate for accessible funding while working to address barriers like high regulatory compliance costs and difficulties in achieving manufacturing scale.”
Fionn Lahart, Irish Medtech Chair, and CEO LUMA Vision, said “I’m honoured to assume the role of Irish Medtech Chair. With as many as four out of five companies being startups or SMEs it’s great to represent founders in this leadership role. My goals for my tenure include making Ireland not just as a global medtech hub, but recognised as a founder factory where entrepreneurs are encouraged to start, scale, and be proud of founding medtech businesses that both foster growth in Ireland and make a global impact improving lives.”
“To achieve this I’d like to showcase founding a company as a career path, advocate for aligning ecosystems to navigate complexity from funding hurdles to regulatory compliance as well as clinical collaboration, and lastly encourage founders to think globally from inception and demonstrate their ambition to scale. We will help drive this by bringing leaders together with our Founders Circle, and our R&D and Innovation working groups to network and learn.”
