If an apprentice successfully completes the 2 year level 6 manufacturing technician programme can they progress to the level 7 apprenticeship programme?

Yes, as years 1 and 2 are common to both programmes on succesful completion of the 2 year level 6 programme the apprentice can progress to the Level 7 award by completing one more year once supported by their employer.

If an apprentice enrols on the 3 yearl level 7 manufacturing engineer programme but wishes leave after 2 years do they receive a level 6 manufacturing technician award?

A manufacturing technician level 6 exit award is possible after successful completion of year 2 of the 3 year programme as years 1 and 2 are common to both programmes. Further advice can be sought from the SOLAS authorised officers in your local Education and Training Board as it is important the SOLAS register reflects the status of the apprentice and the programme they have completed.

Is there an entry exam option if leaving cert not available and candidate is under 23 years old?

No there is no specific entry exams available so candidates must meet the minimum entry requirements.
