Following our high-level programme of events in the US, Canada with Prime Minister Mark Carney, and the UK-Ireland Summit in Cork with Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, our focus now turns to Brussels. This comes during a milestone year for Ireland as we prepare to hold the Presidency of the Council of the EU.
This week in Brussels, Ibec is leading on two major engagements:
• Tripartite Social Summit: EU leaders and social partners including Ibec, Business Europe, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa are meeting to discuss 'Investment for a vibrant European economy and quality jobs’.
• St. Patrick’s Reception: Ibec is hosting the annual St Patrick’s Reception in the European Parliament alongside Seán Kelly MEP, and will be joined by European Parliament President Roberta Metsola, EU Commissioners Michael McGrath and Maroš Šefčovič and Irish MEPs.
