Construction Workers Sick Pay Scheme found to be more favourable than statutory sick pay
Construction workers registered with the Construction Workers Pension Scheme entitlement to sick leave is dealt with under the Sick Pay Benefit of the Construction Workers Sick Pay Trust (CWSPT). A WRC adjudication decision issued on 15 November 2024 on foot of a claim taken by an electrician determined that the Construction Workers Pension Scheme, providing for up to 50 days sick leave per annum is, “as a whole, more favourable” to an employee than statutory sick leave.
