Europe's first end to end sterility assurance postgraduate launched in Galway
The Irish Medtech Association, the Ibec group that represents the sector, today welcomed Minister of State with responsibility for Public Health, Well Being and the National Drugs Strategy Hildegarde Naughton TD, to launch Europe’s first Postgraduate Certificate in End-to-End Sterility Assurance developed by the Irish Medtech Skillnet and Atlantic Technological University (ATU).
Rate of parents taking maternity and paternity leave dropped last year - CSO
The proportion of female employees in receipt of state Maternity Benefit in 2022 fell to 5.5%. The sector with the highest rate of employees availing of state maternity benefit was Human Health and Social Work Activities while the lowest rate was in Accommodation and Food Service Activities. The CSO figures also who that since being introduced in 2019, claims for state Parent’s Benefit have seen a dramatic increase.

WRC publishes Annual Report for 2020
The WRC Annual Report for 2020 published on 26 April reveals that the WRC Inspectorate carried out 7,687 inspections, of which 5,202 were unannounced. Its inspectors detected 1,760 employers who were in breach of employment law, and recovered unpaid wages totalling €1.66m.
