Handling Social Media Misuse in the Workplace

In today’s digital age, social media can amplify an employee’s personal opinions and actions far beyond their intended audience, sometimes leading to serious workplace consequences. When an employee’s online activity raises concerns, employers must carefully assess the potential impact on their organisation, weighing the balance between reputational risk, employee rights, and fair disciplinary procedures. Code of Practice on Remote working

The Work Life Balance and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2023 was signed into law in April of 2023 and introduced various new entitlements, however two elements of this legislation required the drafting of a Code of Practice on the Right to Request Flexible Working and Right to Request Remote Working before the legislation could commence. This Code of Practice has now been published by the Workplace Relations Commission.
