Business Briefing on Anti-Greenwashing Regulation & Mitigation Risk
We are pleased to share the playback of a special online business briefing on complying with anti-greenwashing regulation and mitigating risk. This event was open to all Ibec members.
Subject matter experts from A&L Goodbody presented on different types of greenwashing, the existing legislative and regulatory framework for green claims, and incoming legislation on the topic. Members also heard about significant regulatory and litigation risks stemming from anti-greenwashing legislation, along with practical actions that can be taken to mitigate these risks.
EU regulations such as the Green Transition Directive and Green Claims Directive are set to introduce new compliance risks for companies, as well as the potential for costly litigation, including through consumer class actions (also known as ‘collective redress’). This webinar aimed to help members gain a clearer understanding of the challenges ahead and how to prepare for them.
The content of this briefing is highly relevant to sectors including food & drink, energy, retail, financial services, construction, property and engineering, technology and more.
This briefing was delivered by:
- Denise Daly Byrne, Partner, and Mairead O’Brien, Senior Associate, Disputes & Investigations and Consumer Law specialists at A&L Goodbody
- Jill Shaw, ESG & Sustainability Lead at A&L Goodbody
