What we do

Ireland's business environment and future prosperity depend on effective economic policy and taxation, and competitive operating costs.

Ibec economists with policy makers at a national and international level on economic and taxation issues including the budget, taxation, investment, public expenditure, wages and broader economic and business issues. Our policy staff also promote innovation in Ireland's public sector, particularly in public procurement.

Ibec's publications such as Economic Outlook provide in-depth analysis of the most recent Irish and international economic developments as well as our forecasts on economic growth, inflation and employment. In addition to our extensive policy engagements and published information, Ibec members are welcome to contact us directly. We can help you find economic information relevant to your business planning and budgeting needs including inflation, GDP growth, wage comparisons and other economic data.

The Economics and Taxation Policy Committee focuses on ensuring a policy environment which supports the competitiveness of Irish business. It is the vehicle through which members; economic and taxation interests are represented nationally and at EU level. The committee includes representatives from key sectors of the Irish economy.
