Heather Watters appointed as Regional Director for Ibec in the Northwest region
Heather Watters was recently announced as the new Regional Director for Ibec’s Northwest region. Heather assumed her role in December and is currently in the process of introducing herself to all members.
Heather brings a wealth of experience and strategic expertise to the role. As a qualified solicitor with a Diploma in Employment Law, she has experience in contentious employment relations advocacy and representation. Prior to joining Ibec, Heather worked as a Solicitor at Bedell Cristin, a leading multi-jurisdictional law firm in Jersey, Channel Islands, where she specialised in complex negotiations and strategic client advice.
Working alongside colleagues Declan Thomas and Arlene Curristin in Ibec’s Donegal office, Heather is eager to apply her commercial focus and advocacy skills to provide members with continued robust support and leadership.
Following the recent Northwest Regional Executive Committee (REC) meeting with Minister Jack Chambers, one of the issues identified was labour market mobility and remote working across the region. Ibec, in partnership with the CBI, are currently conducting a Labour Mobility survey to better understand the experiences of organisations in hiring cross-border workers, along with any barriers and impact involved. The survey closed on Monday, 23 February 2026 and the results are being collated. Findings will be used to ensure the services we provide continue to match our members’ needs and to effectively lobby Government on your behalf. If you are an Ibec member would like a copy of the survey results once ready, please contact Heather directly. Please note that all data collected will be reported on a consolidated basis only, ensuring no individual company data is identifiable.
