Recent case highlights the importance of consultation with employees before assigning annual leave
The Workplace Relations Commission recently awarded €1,500 compensation to an employee whose employer failed to consult before requiring him to take annual leave. Although the company had acted in good faith to maintain a viable business when faced with Covid related shutdowns, the OWT Act provisions still apply.
