About Manufacturing Day Ireland

Manufacturing Day Ireland (MDI) is a national campaign dedicated to providing behind-the-scenes access to industry innovation, breaking industry stereotypes, and inspiring the next generation of makers and innovators. Spearheaded by Ibec, the event brings together the country’s entire manufacturing ecosystem, connecting leading indigenous enterprises and global FDI operations under one shared vision.

During this nationwide open house, students, jobseekers, and local communities are invited to step inside state-of-the-art facilities across the country to experience the reality of modern, high-tech manufacturing first-hand.

Seeing is believing

Manufacturing Day Ireland is built on the principle that experiencing these cutting-edge environments first-hand will fundamentally shift public perceptions. From lifesaving medical devices and global biopharmaceuticals to world-class food production, advanced tech and sustainable engineering, Ireland is a world-class production hub.

This initiative showcases that vibrant reality, highlighting well-paid, highly skilled jobs alongside diverse career pathways and robust opportunities for continuous reskilling and development.

Driving regional prosperity

By opening a window into these high-tech hubs of innovation for local students and schools, Manufacturing Day Ireland celebrates a sector driving global innovation and regional prosperity. Endorsed by the Regional Skills Fora (DFHERIS), the campaign emphasises a unified commitment to nurturing local talent and sustaining Ireland's competitive edge.
