Retail Ireland Monitor March 2024

It looks like the Irish consumer is finally putting the acute cost of living concerns of last year behind them. While there have been bumps on the way, Irish inflation continues its broad downward trajectory. We expect this to continue as we move through the year. This is reflected in more positive consumer sentiment figures. While sentiment dipped slightly in February, this follows a significant surge in January. The January and February figures are the two highest readings of the past two years. Consumers remain somewhat cautious, but we’re heading firmly in the right direction.
