Ibec Dublin & Eastern Regional Executive Committee will be hosting an online business briefing on Powering Up Dublin, which will be held in conjunction with Eirgrid. This event is open to all Ibec members.

Powering Up Dublin is an essential project to replace and install over 50km of underground cables across the city to upgrade Dublin’s ageing electricity infrastructure. A public consultation has been launched to identify new cable routes that will link the following electricity substations to each other:

  • North Wall and Poolbeg
  • Finglas and North Wall
  • Poolbeg and Carrickmines
  • Two cables linking Inchicore and Poolbeg

Feedback is being sought from business on the proposed routes. It is important that you have your say in the routes under consideration, and to understand if the planned works will have any impact on business operations (e.g. accessibility, deliveries, noise, commuting implications for staff etc). A consultation brochure is available, as well as an interactive map. The consultation runs until Tuesday 23 May 2023.

Members of the project team will be on hand to provide an overview of the project to Ibec members, and will cover details on the proposed routes, construction works, project timelines and road openings, as well as highlighting the benefits the project can bring to businesses across Dublin.
