Insights to the Future of Work in the Biopharma sector

We are delighted to launch a series of seminars which will take an in depth look at the skills needs of a selection of the key sectors driving the Irish economy. Throughout these sessions, we will ask the experts to explore the current trends and future skills needs for their industry, with a particular focus on what graduates can do to set themselves up for success in these sectors.  

The first webinar will focus on the BioPharmaChem sector in Ireland. Currently there are more than 30,000 highly skilled people directly employed in the sector and it is expected that between 8,000 and 10,000 new jobs will be added over the next five years. 

The BioPharmaChem sector accounts for €80 billion in exports making this country the third largest exporter of pharmaceuticals globally. Fifteen of the top 20 global pharma companies have operations here in Ireland. The sector has invested more than €10 billion over the past 10 years. 

During the seminar we will hear from Siobhán Dean, Exective BioPharmaChem Ireland/Ibec who will give an overview of the current state of the industry in Ireland today with a focus on the job roles in high demand by employers, followed by a panel discussion with leading industry experts.
