Europe's first end to end sterility assurance postgraduate launched in Galway

The Irish Medtech Association, the Ibec group that represents the sector, today welcomed Minister of State with responsibility for Public Health, Well Being and the National Drugs Strategy Hildegarde Naughton TD, to launch Europe’s first Postgraduate Certificate in End-to-End Sterility Assurance developed by the Irish Medtech Skillnet and Atlantic Technological University (ATU).

Stronger protection for whistleblowers on the way

The recently published General Scheme of Protected Disclosures (Amendment) Bill, when enacted, will transpose the EU Whistleblowing Directive (EU) 2019/1937 into Irish law. It will extend the scope of the existing Irish law to include unpaid trainees, board members, job applicants and shareholders. Firms with 50 or more staff will need whistleblowing channels.

Government confirms auto enrolment pensions delay until 2026

On 29 April Minister for Social Protection, Dara Calleary TD, confirmed that the collection of contributions for the Automatic Enrolment retirement savings system called My Future Fund will begin from 1st January 2026. It had previously been planned to begin contributions from 30th September 2025.
