Managing the day-to-day operations of your business can be a challenging endeavour for any manager. This can be further amplified by the onslaught of new legislation, terminology and changing work practices.
To support you in your management practices and help drive your business forward, Ibec has developed a number of toolkits and resource guides to assist.
Often, we have partnered with knowledge experts to create toolkits that offer practical guidance and learnings. Many of the toolkits listed below contain business case studies from both large and small companies. This mix of contributions provides valuable for companies at various stages of their journey in a particular area. CSRD – Unpacking CSRD: A Guide for business [2024]
Ibec partnered with Davy Horizons to create this toolkit for business. The toolkit serves as a comprehensive resource for understanding and implementing the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive requirements. It offers valuable insights and guidance for both the organisation ‘in scope’ looking to refine their reporting practices, as well as the small enterprise beginning their sustainability journey who may not be ‘in scope’ directly but is in the supply chain of an organisation that is.
Climate Action - Climate Action: A Toolkit for business [2024]
Ibec created this toolkit in partnership with Accenture. This comprehensive toolkit provides businesses with the information they need for their climate action journey and provides practical guidance on how to develop an enduring climate action strategy. It provides an overview of key concepts and developments in climate change science and regulation; while also setting out five steps businesses can take on carbon measurement and subsequent reduction roadmap. We also recently published an article on sustainability buzzwords.
Bullying & Harassment – Combatting Aggression and Harassment in the Workplace [2024]
The Combatting Aggression and Harassment in the Workplace toolkit aims to address the typical issues around workplace harassment and aggression. It examines the employer responsibilities from both an equality and health and safety legislative position and it outlines what tools can be used to address and prevent such incidents escalating, such as risk assessments and workplace harassment and aggression checklists.
Grief in the Workplace – Responding to Suicide: A Guide for Employers [2021]
This guide was a government led collaboration with input from Ibec, Trade Unions, Irish Hospice Foundation and HSE - National Office for Suicide Prevention. The guide is designed specifically with employers and union representatives in mind. It aims to help organisations increase their understanding and confidence in responding to suicide in the workplace by providing practical, sensible and sensitive guidelines to support colleagues who are grieving. It addresses the immediate issues that require attention as well as the longer-term considerations.
Mental Health & Wellbeing - An Employers Guide to Mental Health in the Workplace [2017]
This guide developed in partnership with See Change, provides information and direction for line managers in promoting mental wellbeing for all and understanding and supporting employees experiencing mental health problems while in the workplace. It highlights strategies to manage issues related to mental health in the workplace. It is a source of practical help and acknowledges the role of line managers as key players in addressing mental health problems in members of their teams, dealing with mental health problems in the workplace and underlines the importance of intervention at an early stage.

Hybrid Working – Hybrid Working Toolkit [2022]
Hybrid working is a blend of working on-site and working remotely from off-site locations. It operates differently in each organisation with work practices continuing to evolve over time, as learnings are acquired. This toolkit outlines best practice for organisations on the management of hybrid working.
Flexible Working – Flexible Working Toolkit [2022]
Flexible work practices are a key part of the evolving and dynamic workplace of the future, where flexibility features heavily in supporting service delivery and work life balance. The ability to offer flexible working will vary from organisation to organisation depending on the nature of the industry and job roles. This toolkit outlines the main flexible work practices and a process for introducing and evaluating these work practices over time.
