Ibec Networks Wrapped 2024
As we look back on 2024, Ibec Networks reflects on a year full of impactful events, webinars, and initiatives designed to support our members and foster collaboration across industries. From insightful policy discussions to hands-on workshops and high-level networking, 2024 has been a year of growth, engagement, and forward-thinking strategies. Here’s a look back at some of our most notable moments.
Engaging and Informative Webinars
The year kicked off with the "For You to Share" webinar series, providing valuable advice on personal and professional goal-setting, personal finance, and branding. This series set the tone for a year focused on equipping our members with the tools needed to thrive in 2024. The engagement was extraordinary, with members and their teams gaining actionable insights to kick-start their year.
Throughout the year, we continued to deliver essential knowledge, from mental wellbeing tools in January to our Autumn Series: Building a Resilient Organisation.
The Digital Advertising Series in May also garnered attention, highlighting important trends and best practices for the digital marketing world. The series included a session on strategy and using insights to attract customers. These online events ensured that members could access content at their convenience, wherever they are.
In-Person Events and Workshops
In addition to the digital offerings, 2024 saw us curate a line-up of in-person events that allowed members to connect face-to-face, exchange ideas, and learn from industry experts. We were delighted to host the launch of the Government of Ireland’s Logistics & Supply Chain Skills Week in February, a standout event that drew industry leaders and Minister Jack Chambers for a well-attended conference.
We also held regional roadshows in Dublin, Portlaoise, and Waterford throughout April, bringing key discussions on diversity and inclusion directly to members. These sessions provided a platform for sector-specific discussions and allowed members to network with peers from various industries.
Our Facilities Managers Network, Supply Chain Networks and Experience Economy Policy Committee also met in person, with site visits to ESB, Dixon Transport and Shannon Airport, giving members an inside look at cutting-edge building, warehousing and management practices. You can find a full overview of all our business networks on our webpage.
Advocacy and Reports
In March, the Experience Economy policy committee released its More than meets the Eye report, shedding light on the economic contributions of the wider experience economy sectors. The report not only highlighted key policy recommendations but also provided case studies showcasing the variety of businesses active in the experience economy.
Special Initiatives and Thought Leadership
2024 was a year for fostering thought leadership across various industries. Our monthly Engage e-zine served as a key resource for industry insights, with 47 articles published on timely topics ranging from performance management to International Women's Day and future workplace trends. You can view all Engage articles on our insights page.
Members also had the opportunity to contribute their own perspectives. If you would like to contribute to Engage in 2025, please reach out to me at conor.gibbons@ibec.ie.
Looking Ahead: December and Beyond
As we look toward the rest of 2024 and beyond, we remain committed to driving value for our members. We have just finished our Autumn Series: Building a resilient organisation, a series of 5 online seminars focused on wellbeing, strategy, and culture. We also hosted an economic and pay trends update in our webinar The Economic Context for Wage Negotiations, with one participant saying: “the info in the webinar and the expertise of the presenters, facilitators was spot on, very helpful and edifying”.
In December, the Risk & Compliance Network will address critical issues in mergers & acquisitions and private equity, rounding off a year that has been marked by continuous learning, collaboration, and growth for our diverse membership.
Thank You to Our Members
None of these initiatives would have been possible without the invaluable participation of our members. From attending events to contributing insights, your engagement has been at the heart of everything we do. We look forward to another year of growth, collaboration, and success as we continue to build a stronger network for all.
Stay connected, get involved, and let's continue to grow together in the year ahead!
