Insights to the Future of Work in the Medtech sector
We are delighted to open bookings for the 2nd in our seminar series taking an in depth look at the skills needs of a selection of the key sectors driving the Irish economy. Throughout these sessions, we will ask the experts to explore the current trends and future skills needs for their industry, with a particular focus on what graduates can do to set themselves up for success in these sectors.
The second webinar will focus on the Medtech sector in Ireland. There are over 250 medical technology companies in Ireland, exporting €8bn worth of product annually and employing 25,000 people - the highest number of people working in the industry in any country in Europe, per head of population. Exports of medical devices and diagnostics products now represent 8.5% of Ireland’s total merchandise exports.
Many of the world’s top medical technology companies have invested significantly in Ireland and a number of exciting, research-based, indigenous companies are emerging and competing internationally.
During the seminar we will hear from Sinead Keogh, Director of the Irish Medtech Association in Ibec who will give an overview of the current state of the industry in Ireland today with a focus on the job roles in high demand by employers, followed by a panel discussion with leading industry experts.
This event is targeted at staff, students and recent graduates alike, with an interest in careers in the Medtech sector.
