New legislation on Mandatory Retirement Age moves a step closer as revised Code on Longer Working is sent to Minister
The Employment (Contractual Retirement Ages) Act 2025 was signed into law by the President of Ireland on December 16, 2025.
While the Act has been signed, it requires a commencement order from the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to officially go into effect.
