CEO Update: Reaction to Budget 2025 & Exclusive Member Webinar today at 17:00
Dear member,
Having listened to and analysed the speeches in the Dáil this afternoon, Ibec welcomes the ambitious scale of investment outlined in Budget 2025, particularly in terms of human capital and infrastructure.
Although, cost competitiveness challenges remain a concern, Budget 2025 is making the right signals towards a more realistic and sustainable path forward for businesses worried about rising cumulative costs.
There have been substantial wins for business.
Ibec has long called on the Government to begin spending the National Training Fund and we welcome that confirmation today. Investing this money is key to ensuring our workforce has the skills critical to a dynamic, modern economy. We will work with the Government to ensure it is used effectively to strengthen businesses and their employees.
Ibec also welcomes the Government’s investment ambition for infrastructure by harnessing revenues provided by corporation tax - expected to be €40 billion this year alone. World-class infrastructure provides the critical foundation for business to deliver jobs, growth and quality of life. We are optimistic that the Government’s commitment to projects relating to water, electricity, transport and housing will benefit businesses and society alike.
