Dear member, 

I attach below a letter issued to An Tánaiste Leo Varadkar today calling for urgent action in relation to the removal of the exemption for subject matter experts from mandatory hotel quarantine.

The classification of workers as subject matter experts during the pandemic has been critical, allowing international travel to support repair and maintenance of technical equipment in essential areas of the economy.  Removing exemptions for what are specialist and technical workers, undermines essential production processes and services with potentially disastrous consequences.

I will continue to lobby and escalate this issue with Government to work towards a reversal of this decision.
