CEO update on Programme for Government

Today’s agreement on a draft Programme for Government between Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the Green Party is crucial in delivering political certainty and stability during a tumultuous period both domestically and internationally.

It has been four months since the General Election so it is important that business focuses on the prize of what this Programme delivers: a stable political executive and legislature enabling implementation of a much needed reboot package and one which can prepare for Brexit now confirmed for the end of this year. As you will be aware the process to ratify the agreement is unique and from this stage we await approval through the party membership which will lead to the election of An Taoiseach and his new cabinet at the end of June.

As colleagues and I review the elements of the Programme in its totality, I will be back to you with a debrief on the Ibec priority achievements and areas which we will be closely motioning and engaging on over the coming weeks and months.
