Sustainability is the latest edition in PCF’s sector priorities for future success series. Sustainability outlines food and drink businesses commitment, to contribute to the creation of a circular economy and work with suppliers, retailers, and consumers to support sustainable consumption patterns.

PCF members are fully committed to:

  • cutting CO2 emissions;
  • promoting efficient water use;
  • building a more circular economy for packaging;
  • embedding environmental standards in transport practices; and
  • reducing food waste.

PCF companies also want to increase their understanding of sustainable supply chains and natural capital.

Food and drinks businesses are investing in many positive changes in their own processes and practices, many of which are highlighted in this paper. The sector is committed to achieving a sustainable future through realistic goals, training, education, adequate investment and engaging and collaborating with all stakeholders across the supply chain.
