The latest CEO Update newsletter to Ibec members from Danny McCoy

Dear Member,

I am delighted to announce that this morning Alastair Blair, Country Managing Director for Accenture in Ireland has been elected as Ibec’s new President for 2020 to 2021.

Alastair joined Accenture in 1987 and, during his career, has held a number of senior roles with a particular focus on the financial services sector. He has extensive knowledge of business strategy and driving organisational change through innovation and agility.

He is a board member of Business to Arts and chairs the Agri-Food Inclusion and Diversity Council. Alastair previously chaired the Worker of the Future Leaders Group for Business in the Community Ireland - a group which Accenture continues to actively support. He was appointed to the Ibec Board in 2015.

As a recognised leader in European business, his experience and insights will no doubt support our efforts over the coming year to help navigate the economy through the dual threats of Brexit and Covid.

Earlier today, we hosted the Ibec President’s Broadcast in lieu of our usual President’s Dinner. The virtual event included contributions from An Taoiseach Micheál Martin, Edel Creely, Managing Director at Arkphire Services, Anne Heraty, Chief Executive of Cpl Resources plc and CEO of Dalata Hotel Group and the outgoing Ibec President Pat McCann. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Pat for all his hard work and dedication over the last twelve months.

 Kind regards,

Danny McCoy

CEO, Ibec
