Overview

Business networking is an extremely valuable way to expand your knowledge, learn from the success of others, attain new clients and tell others about your business. Technology Ireland has been providing business networking opportunities to the digital technology sector in Ireland for over 40 years.

Networking provides you with a great source of connections, and really opens the door to talk to highly influential people that you may otherwise not be able to easily talk to or find.

So whether you are looking to build connections, get advice from like-minded business owners, or raise your own profile among the industry, the Technology Ireland industry network has the right networking forum for you and your business needs.

TechHR Forum

Meets monthly and provides companies in the broader technology sector

The TechHR Forum meets monthly and provides companies in the broader technology sector with an opportunity to discuss industrial relations and human resources issues, receive specialised information and updates relevant to the employment relationships for the sector and network with industry peers.

The group also facilitates a weekly TechHR Forum query service. Queries are issued to the TechHR Forum members on a Monday and members are invited to respond. Any responses received are shared with the group on a Friday. This service is an easy way to get a rapid response from industry peers on a broad range of topics.

In conjunction with the Ibec Survey Unit, the TechHR Forum feeds into the annual Technology Ireland Salary Survey that allows member companies to benchmark salaries and benefits across a wide number of categories. The survey is available to all participating organisations.

The Forum has over 250 members, and is currently chaired by Leeanne Patterson, Tata Consultancy Services.

  • Exchange ideas, network, form alliances and focus on technology and growth
  • Discuss how your ideas, breakthroughs and challenges are affecting your company's business
  • Meet with other start-ups and established companies, get their feedback and input.

TechBrew is an informal networking forum, with the opportunity to discuss and share your views, challenge the conventional wisdom, and meet and learn from your peers. The first part of the TechBrew follows the evening’s given theme, offers a number of people a soapbox for 10 minutes each (no slides just experience) and provides everyone with the opportunity to contribute and air their views. This is followed by informal networking, where you can grab a pint, a bite to eat, and chat with fellow attendees and industry experts.

Diversity Forum

A networking group of Diversity Specialists or HRManagers who have a particular interest in diversity andinclusion.

Ibec’s Diversity Forum is a networking group of Diversity Specialists or HR Managers who have a particular interest in diversity and inclusion.

Currently there are 120 diversity forum members that include medium and large organisations from the public and private sector. The forum meets 4 times per year and each meeting addresses a particular topic or range of topics and participants share what has worked in their organisations and best practice around the topic of diversity. Meetings combine presentations from internal or external experts with practical organisation cases, followed by an open and frank discussion of the topics and opportunity to network with peers.

Diversity forum members find the network very beneficial as they can tap into advice, best practice information as well as tools or practices that they can then implement in their own organisations or add to the work they are already doing. Participants include both practitioners who have been working in the diversity field for some time and others who personally or whose organisations are new to this area.

Ibec's Diversity Forum is chaired by Bernie O'Connor, ESB.
