Technology Ireland welcomes Report of the Expert Group on an Individual Complaints Mechanism

Technology Ireland, the Ibec group that represents the technology industry, has welcomed the publication of the Report of the Expert Group on an Individual Complaints Mechanism, the details and implications of which industry will now require time to review.

Technology Ireland has been engaging with Government regarding the Online Safety and Media Regulation (OSMR) Bill since its publication. The group was supportive of the efforts of the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin TD to establish an Expert Group examining the feasibility of an Individual Complaints Mechanism. 

Industry will now examine the recommendations of the Report to better understand how the implementation of an Individual Complaints Mechanism will work following the endorsement of its feasibility by the Expert Group.
