July 01, 2025

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has initiated a public consultation on the proposal to restrict the use of certain chromium (VI) oxides, oxyacids, and their salts. This consultation will remain open for a period of six months, concluding on 18 December 2025. Stakeholders are encouraged to submit early comments no later than 18 September 2025, in order to assist ECHA’s scientific committees in their first discussions of the proposal.

ECHA has published an information sheet outlining the specific types of information sought in the context of this consultation (linked here). Additional details, including access to the consultation page, are available on the ECHA website (linked here). Furthermore, ECHA hosted a webinar and Q&A session on 18 June 2025.
