About the SFA

The Small Firms Association is recognised by decision makers as the “Voice of Small Business” in Ireland, proudly representing small businesses with 50 or less employees, spanning every sector of our economy. We leverage this influence, along with our parent organisation, Ibec, to ensure the best deal for small business. Our members are found in every town and every city in Ireland, and our vision is that Ireland will be the most vibrant small business community in the world – supporting entrepreneurship, valuing small businesses and rewarding risk takers.

Our mission is to be the trusted partner of small business in Ireland, to deliver business-focused advice and insights to member companies, influence government policy to the benefit of small businesses and connect our members in a thriving community. It is also our mission to ensure that the Government, the opposition parties, the civil service and the general public realise the importance of the small business sector and the critical need to ensure the broader economic environment is conducive to your continued survival and growth.

We regularly meet with Government Ministers directly on particular issues of concern, we make submissions to Government Departments, we give evidence before Joint Oireachtas Committees and lobby influencers across the spectrum. The SFA conduct hundreds of TV, radio and print media interviews annually.

We are members of the European Representative organisation for business, BusinessEurope, and engage actively with their lobbying agenda in the EU.
