Reach New Heights with MentorsWork

March 26, 2024

Building on the remarkable success and transformative impact on 3,000+ SMEs to date, MentorsWork is dedicated to providing a bespoke support by understanding the unique challenges and opportunities within each SME.

“It is all led by the SME as to where they need support,” explains Rachael McFarlane, Programme Manager. Boasting over 100 mentors, your hand-selected mentor is based on the competency areas that you have chosen to work on, taking into account the sector and the size of your business. “We pair the company with a mentor that has actually walked in their shoes with experience in their specific industry. It’s all selected in the best possible way to make sure the SME gets the best mentor that matches their unique needs.”

MentorsWork is designed for business owners and managers in any sector, catering to Irish companies with 1-250 employees. Over the 12-week programme, participants will engage in one-to-one mentoring sessions and receive access to over 120 interactive workshops and expert-led masterclasses, covering a wide array of topics essential for business growth and resilience.

MentorsWork has provided support to businesses across diverse sectors and industries including lifestyle, hair and beauty, childcare, technology, retail, marketing services, recruitment and small manufacturing businesses have been largely represented – but are open to all sectors.

By the end of the programme, participants will have created a bespoke Business Improvement Plan with their mentor to help guide them through the following 6 months. MentorsWork alumni can also avail of partially-funded Consultancy and Team Training Services, who would flourish with more support with their business development plan and upskilling their workforce.

Highlighting the importance of such initiatives, Minister Simon Harris emphasises why MentorsWork is a crucial role in supporting SME growth:

"Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and providing them with the necessary support and guidance is crucial for their success. Programmes like MentorsWork play a vital role in empowering SMEs to overcome challenges and thrive in today's competitive landscape. It is part of our department's mission to ensure that everyone has access to support to enhance their skills and reach their full potential. We are proud to support MentorsWork on its mission of building a pathway to business success."
