FSAI Food Reformulation Task Force Consultation
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) Food Reformulation Task Force has recently published a draft set of energy and target nutrient thresholds for use in new product development. The publication can be found here.
The FSAI has launched a public consultation to gather feedback on the draft threshold values, closing on the 18th of September. The consultation is available here.
Relevant SFA members are invited to review the draft text and share any feedback/comments with SFA and Food Drink Ireland / Ibec.
Food Drink Ireland and the SFA will draft an industry response in the case that we receive sufficient feedback. As the final date for submission is 18 September, SFA members are invited to share their feedback with SFA Public Affairs Lead, Jonathan McDade on jonathan.mcdade@sfa.ie or 01 605 1688 by COB on Friday, 28 August to facilitate drafting a response.
