AI in Enterprise Consultation
The SFA has been heavily involved with the Department of Enterprise’s AI Steering Group. Through our leadership within the group the SFA has been shaping government policy on AI and how it can benefit small businesses. Last summer, the SFA published its research on AI usage which received a wide range of media coverage, further demonstrating the SFA’s work in this area.
Following various inputs by the SFA, Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment have commissioned Accenture to undertake a study on its behalf. The study is focused on:
- The opportunities and barriers to adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the manufacturing (across subsectors: pharmaceutical, medical devices, computer & electronics, engineering, food & beverage) and its value chain, tourism and construction sectors, and the potential policy measures that could support and accelerate AI adoption across these sectors.
- The opportunities and barriers facing businesses in the ICT services sector (SaaS and ICT enabled services sector) as they adapt to AI-driven transformation, including potential policy responses to support enterprise competitiveness and innovation.
The study will provide an evidence base to inform a sectoral strategy on AI in enterprise which is to be developed by the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment.
Please note that the line of questioning for ICT Services differs relative to other sectors- in line with the study objectives.
Please find a link to the consultation for the sectoral study on Artificial Intelligence in Enterprise DETE AI in Enterprise Consultation. The consultation will remain open until Friday, 24 July.
In addition to the above consultation, DETE/ Accenture are hosting a series of workshops, each aligned to a specific industry. In these workshops they aim to test our emerging research findings with companies that operate in this sector, as well as organisations who have a cross-firm view of it.
They would like input from members of the Small Firms Association, who could attend any of the workshops. The workshops are structured around subsector tables (please see below).
If you have any questions about the survey or wish to take part in any of the workshops, please contact David.Broderick@sfa.ie or 087 6371475.
