Online Course on Chemical Safety
The Health & Safety Authority has launched an updated online course on chemical safety in the workplace and identifying chemical hazards. The course provides an introduction to chemical safety in the workplace, helping participants understand their responsibilities and key safety principles when working with chemicals. It focuses on hazardous chemicals, exposure, labels and safety data sheets. It is an updated version of the HSA’s original Chemical Safety in the Workplace (Introductory) course, reflecting the latest guidance and best practices.
Workers who take the course will be able to understand how to stay safe when working with chemicals, recognise how chemical exposure can occur, identify various hazards posed by chemicals in the workplace and find information on chemicals using labels and SDSs. The free online course can be accessed through the HSA’s e-learning portal, via the following link.
