Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the EU

Looking ahead to Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the EU in the second half of 2026, Ibec have begun drafting a Presidency Priorities position paper. This will reflect the priorities of Ibec existing EU campaign, Competitive Business, Competitive Europe, to which many in the SFA have already contributed. The SFA welcome general feedback from you before Friday 1 August based on the following questions:

• What are your views on the existing EU campaign priorities and recommendations?
• Do these priorities still match your own and are they up to date?
• What are your big ticket items that are important for us to prioritise?
• What are the specific files that you are following, and that you expect to fall during the Irish Presidency next year?
