Brexit: Are you prepared for October changes?

July 03, 2023

In October 2023, changes will be introduced for trade in goods between Britain and the island of Ireland. From 1 October 2023, the UK Government will begin to introduce new rules for movements of goods from Britain to Northern Ireland following agreement on revisions to the operation of the Protocol on Ireland / Northern Ireland under the Windsor Framework. From 31 October, the UK Government will begin to introduce import controls on movements of goods into Britain from the EU, including Ireland, under its Border Target Operating Model (TOM).

SFA colleagues in Ibec will host a webinar on 19 July at 10:00-11:30 to provide members with information and opportunities to raise questions on the Windsor Framework and the UK Target Operating Model to our speakers from relevant Government departments and agencies, including the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment; Department of Foreign Affairs; Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine; and the Revenue Commissioners.

You can register and submit your questions in advance here. For any queries, please contact Elizabeth Bowen at elizabeth.bowen@sfa.ie.
