Ryan Tubridy is a Radio and Television Broadcaster. Ryan is currently the host of the midmorning show on Virgin Radio from 10am to 1pm Monday to Friday. 'The Ryan Tubridy Show' joins the weekday on-air crew, including The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with cinch, Jayne Middlemiss in the afternoons, and Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson at drivetime.
Ryan recently released the third season of his chart topping podcast 'The Bookshelf with Ryan Tubridy’. On this podcast Ryan sits down with household names to discover the books that have influenced their lives. Every week, Ryan turns the pages of their life through the prism of three books: Their childhood book, the book that made them cry, and the book that changed their life.
He presented a weekday morning show from 9-10am, The Ryan Tubridy Show on RTÉ Radio 1 and The Late Late Show, Ireland's most popular TV show and the world's longest running chat show on RTÉ One, for the past 14 years. In the UK, he began working with BBC Radio 2 in 2011 and since then he has covered for Graham Norton, Ken Bruce, Chris Evans’ Breakfast Show, Terry Wogan and Simon Mayo’s Drivetime Show.
Ryan has authored four books to date. His first book JFK in Ireland, is a profile of U.S. President John F. Kennedy's 1963 visit to Ireland. In his second book, The Irish Are Coming, Tubridy examines the relationship between Britain and Ireland. Ryan's third book is his first children’s book called Patrick and the President, a captivating read which tells the story through the eyes of a young boy, of John F. Kennedy's return to his ancestral home in 1963. Christmas 2018 saw Ryan release his fourth and second children’s book called ‘The First Christmas Jumper (and the sheep who changed everything)’. The book tells the story of Hillary, the multi-coloured sheep who loves Christmas and Santa and the quest to make a brand-new Christmas jumper.
