Retail Ireland Monitor November 2023

Consumer sentiment has taken a modest lift after the budget. Additional supports to address cost of living concerns and some tax cuts will ease the financial pressure on many. The jobs market also remains strong. However, the international backdrop is weighing on the mood. We live in times of perpetual crisis and sentiment levels are notably below the 27 year average of the series. On the plus side, sentiment levels are significantly up on this time last year. There’s still room for optimism as we approach Christmas.
