Overview

Ireland's Experience Economy consists of businesses and a workforce that operate across multiple sectors in Ireland as well as encompassing organisations in the arts, cultural, sporting and heritage sectors. It includes hospitality, retail, travel, food and drink, tourism, attractions and venues, entertainment, events and activity providers.

Our campaign More than meets the eye seeks to highlight not only the “front of house” sector itself but also the vast array of services and industries that support hospitality, leisure, tourism and entertainment sectors in Ireland.

On 20th March we launched the Experience Economy ‘More Than Meets the Eye’ Insights Report. The report highlights Ireland’s Experience Economy as an economic ecosystem that is like none other – an economy that is resilient and full of potential. The report shows the importance of the Experience Economy through data and case studies and identifies our members’ priorities and our recommendations to Government to address them.

During this 1 hour briefing, we will summarise the report findings and outline Ibec’s policy recommendations to government to ensure that businesses in Ireland’s Experience Economy are recognised for their role in making Ireland a great place to live, work and invest.
