Upcoming Free Health and Safety Authority Seminars
Please find below forthcoming Health and Safety Authority (HSA) Seminars and Ergonomic Case Studies. Please note that these events are organised by the Health & Safety Authority, therefore SFA cannot book delegates on to them.
1. Ergonomic Best Practice Seminars
The ergonomic best practice seminars will be organised in both Dublin on 13 October and Cork on 19 October.
These seminars will give practical guidance on how to manage risks that impact employee’s health, the latest thinking on occupational health, and the future of work. Useful case studies on how organisations have managed ergonomic risks in their workplace will also be presented, including how this is applied to the new era of remote working.
2. Healthy Workplaces Seminar
In addition, the HSA are hosting a ‘Healthy Workplaces Seminar’ in Dublin on 27th October (during European Safety Week), which will provide employers and employees with an understanding of the current health and safety issues arising in workplaces across Ireland and how best to assess risk and implement best practice changes.
3. European Healthy Workplaces Campaign 2020-2022
Week beginning October 24th, 2022, is European Week for Safety and Health at Work. The theme for the Healthy Workplaces Campaign 2020-22, organised by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA), is ‘Healthy Workplaces Lighten the Load’. The campaign aims to raise awareness of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and the importance of preventing them.
A key focus for this campaign is to highlight the importance of taking time to understand the human interaction in the physical work environment, managing the physical ergonomic risks using evidence-based risk assessment tools and working together to develop innovative and better ways of working resulting in improved worker musculoskeletal health and performance.
