In addition, the HSA are hosting a ‘Healthy Workplaces Seminar’ in Dublin on 27th October (during European Safety Week), which will provide employers and employees with an understanding of the current health and safety issues arising in workplaces across Ireland and how best to assess risk and implement best practice changes.

Week beginning October 24th, 2022, is European Week for Safety and Health at Work. The theme for the Healthy Workplaces Campaign 2020-22, organised by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA), is ‘Healthy Workplaces Lighten the Load. The campaign aims to raise awareness of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and the importance of preventing them.

A key focus for this campaign is to highlight the importance of taking time to understand the human interaction in the physical work environment, managing the physical ergonomic risks using evidence-based risk assessment tools and working together to develop innovative and better ways of working resulting in improved worker musculoskeletal health and performance.
