FSI’s goal is that ‘Ireland is the pre-eminent global location for diversity and culture.’
FSI will work to promote:
- Ireland as a world leader in establishing gender balance in the financial services sector.
- Activities within Ireland for Finance that support diversity and a positive culture across the sector.
- A diverse workforce and culture where talent can flourish in a vibrant financial services ecosystem.
- Leading public and private sector initiatives promoting diversity and positive culture.
How to get involved / Forums
The Government of Ireland’s Department of Finance published Ireland for Finance strategy in 2019. One of the headline actions (Action 5 – Talent) is to develop a ‘Women in Finance Charter’ to reflect the government’s aspiration to see gender balance at all levels across financial services firms. “The Charter reflects the government’s aspiration to see gender balance at all levels across financial services firms. A balanced workforce is good for business: it is good for customers, for profitability and for workplace culture, and is increasingly attractive for investors. This work will consist of developing a Women in Finance Charter and inviting a number of IFS companies to sign it by end of Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3.”
Financial Services Ireland (FSI) and the Banking and Payments Federation Ireland (BPFI) were tasked to develop the Charter.
FSI and BPFI in association with an Industry Review Group (60 firms and organisations) and a Stakeholder Advisory group (Industry diversity best practice professionals) developed Ireland’s Women in Finance Charter, a guide to accompany the Charter and an industry reporting template. We are currently finalising the governance and management of the Charter. It is expected that the launch of Ireland's Women in Finance Charter will take place at the end of Quarter 3 2021.
