Engineering Skillnet Official Launch

The Ibec Engineering Network is the group representing a diverse industry comprising of leading multinationals and home-grown businesses in the engineering sector. The companies serve a broad range of markets including automotive, aviation, energy and environment, construction, agriculture as well as core elements of the sub supply sectors including machinery, equipment, paper, printing and fabricated products. The engineered products and sub supply sector is growing with exports of €8 billion worth of product annually across 1,200 companies, employing 46,000 people. There is a broad range of engineering companies in terms of size, scale and product throughout the regions of Ireland and 75% of the companies Irish owned businesses. To support the pace of technology disruption, increased regulations and the changing world of work, we need to continuously upskill and retrain our employees to keep pace with change, to build agility, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
The Ibec Engineering Network has been successful in obtaining government funding to set up an Engineering Skillnet and is delighted to present the official launch of this exciting skills network.
