Drinks Ireland|Beer survey
A Drinks Ireland|Beer survey of its members estimates that around 80,000 kegs of beer have been delivered ahead of this weekend and next week, all of which was produced in Ireland. Drinks suppliers have been working overtime to restock around 7,000 hospitality outlets right across the country, from Malin Head to Mizen Head, for the first time since Christmas. A small number of pubs are being restocked for the first time in 2 years.
Drinks Ireland’s #TogetherAgain campaign is celebrating the wider reopening of the hospitality sector after a challenging two years. As the sector looks to rebuild, it is encouraging customers to support their favourite local venues, which are a vital part of the social fabric and local economy of towns and villages across Ireland.
While the reopening is positive, it’s important to note that alcohol consumption continues to decline in Ireland – consumption is now approximately 30% lower than the peak of 2001.
