Business welcomes single application procedure for employment permits and immigration permission
Ibec, the group that represents Irish business, welcomes the announcement from Government that a single application procedure for employment permits and immigration permissions should be developed.
Welcoming the announcement, Maeve McElwee, Ibec Executive Director of Employer Relations, said: “The country currently finds itself against a backdrop of continuous disruption in the new world of work and changing economic headwinds. This in turn is impacting talent and skills pipelines in the economy.
“Today’s announcement from Government will be welcomed by many industries as an important step in addressing emerging talent and skills shortages. Ibec has been actively calling on Government for several years to develop a fit-for-purpose work permits process and we look forward to engaging with stakeholders in the development of a new system that best positions Ireland to compete for talent.”
