Dwelling completions perform well despite Covid disruptions, CSO stats show
Property Industry Ireland (PII), the Ibec group for businesses working in the property sector, said today’s data from the Central Statistics Office show dwelling completions performed well in 2022 despite the impact of Covid-19 restrictions in the early part of the year.
PII Director, Dr. David Duffy stated: " Completions in 2021 matched those of 2020, reflecting the positive response from the construction sector to make up for the impact of COVID 19 restrictions on activity. Growth in new home starts suggest a further increase in the delivery of new homes in 2022.
“As we continue to emerge from the pandemic, it is important Government engages with the private sector to cooperate on the goal of delivering the targets set out in Housing for All.”
