Business calls on Government to “hold its nerve” in face of latest Covid challenge
Ibec, the group that represents Irish business, is calling on Government to “hold its nerve” and implement a proportionate response to the latest set of challenges posed by the Omicron variant.
Speaking in light of recent recommendations from NPHET, Ibec CEO Danny McCoy said: “Business continues to recognise the importance of protecting public health. However, any such public health measures deployed to suppress the Omicron strain must take into account that vaccination and booster uptakes in the country are high, and that hospital utilisation is stable and declining.”
