Q2 dwelling completions data from CSO show strong response by homebuilders to reopening - PII
Property Industry Ireland (PII), the Ibec group for businesses working in the property sector, said today’s dwelling completions data for Q2 2021 from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) highlights the extent to which the sector has worked to offset the impact of the lockdown on housing completions.
PII Director, Dr. David Duffy stated: "The latest completions data from the CSO show Q2 dwelling completions of 5,021, up 55.5% on Q2 2020 and 4.6% on 2019.
“The level of completions in Quarter 2 is a positive indicator of activity levels within the homebuilding sector. However, supply still lags demand. It will be important that the upcoming Housing for All policy document and the new Housing Commission facilitates collaboration between the public and private sector to work together and address the issues that continue to constrain supply.”
